If you are considering a once-in-a-lifetime experience, here are five luxurious destinations to think about as you plan your next adventure.

Seychelles

It’s not hard to see why the Seychelles is considered one of the most luxurious destinations on this list. Made up of around 115 islands, it is all about picturesque white beaches and sparkling, crystal-clear waters.

Anse Source d’Argent, regularly named the most beautiful beach in the world, and the ‘star’ in movies like Castaway starring Tom Hanks, can be found on the island of La Digue.

The Seychelles also offers some of the most diverse diving in the world – from coral gardens just offshore, to wildlife-rich deep-water wrecks, there is something for every diver.

Lake Como

One of George Clooney’s favourite holiday spots, Lake Como has been the go-to destination for British travellers to indulge in a bit of the good life Italian style.

Only an hour by train from Milan, Lake Como is rich in culture with grand lakefront hotels and gardens ablaze with flowers.

While it tends to be a year-round destination, March and October are considered the shoulder months, a perfect time to visit to avoid most of the crowds.

Dubai

The dazzling crown jewel of the United Arab Emirates. It is difficult to mention luxury trips without Dubai being part of the list.

Boasting lavish hotels, fine dining restaurants and unique wonders including the Palm Jumeriah and the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, Dubai needs to be seen to be believed.

If the desert is not your thing, the city also features Ski Dubai, a resort featuring slopes long enough to either ski or snowboard indoors. How cool! ⛷️

The Maldives

How many places can you sleep in an overwater villa at night and wake up to the soundtrack of the ocean? We don’t think there are many, which is what makes visiting the Maldives top of many people’s bucket lists.

The island nation, located in the Indian Ocean consists of over 1,000 coral islands with rich cultural traditions and national treasures.

All-inclusive trips are incredibly popular in the Maldives due to its remoteness, allowing you to take it easy, overindulge and enjoy the spectacular scenery around you including picture perfect white sands and blue seas.

Kenya

A worthy contender for anyone’s once-in-a-lifetime trip list, Kenya is the safari location on everyone’s lips featuring an abundance of luxurious safari lodges, natural wonders including Lake Nakuru and wide-open Savannah grasslands.

You can also try your luck in spotting the ‘Big Five’, a group of Africa’s most famous large animals, or witness the Great Migration, where herds of over a million wildebeest and zebra clamber up the riverbanks of the Mara River.

With Kenya situated on the Equator and with a mild climate, no matter when you visit, you can expect constant blue skies.

If you are planning a luxury package trip that involves a flight for next year, book with an ATOL licensed travel company to make sure your holiday is financially protected by the scheme.

We also recommend you book with a credit card and take out comprehensive travel insurance, to give you that extra piece of mind.
